The Quiet Whispers of God

First Kings, chapter 19, beginning at verse 12: "And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a small still voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'"

There's no need to run anywhere when you get discouraged. God will meet you right where you are. Though you would like a fresh encounter with Him to be a magnificent event, most often the deepest comfort to be found is in the quiet whispers of God to your heart. In them, you will rediscover the strength to go on. God promises to walk with you and in His strength, you will find joy and purpose again. Get up today from where you are. There are still things ahead that only you are called to do.

It's time to pray.
