Holy Desperation III
Luke 5, at the end of verse 17, says, "And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Then behold, men brought on a bed a paralyzed man, whom they sought to bring in and lay before him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus."
Every hurting person needs friends, as this man had. Though many others would pass him by or pretend he didn't exist, they couldn't. At great personal cost, they got him to where they knew that healing was. They were desperate for the sake of another.
Today, do we go through our day pretending that pain doesn't exist and that Hell isn't real? Can others who can't get to God on their own depend on us?
My brother, my sister, it's time to pray.
