Holy Desperation I

Luke, chapter 18, beginning at verse 37, says, “So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by and he cried out saying, ‘Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.’ Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet, but he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me.’”

The man in this historical account had only one chance. Jesus might never be this close to him again. He was desperate. He wanted to see. He began to cry out for mercy, though some around him would suggest that his pleas were in vain. His prayer that day brought about a miracle that affected many people's lives.

America today is blind. She doesn't know what she has become. As Jesus passes, will you hold your peace or call for one more miracle of mercy?

It's time to pray.
